How does the armor destruction work?

Does it only affect normal armors? Or can it destroy/damage magical (item) armors?

What about natural protection?

Only normal armors. Perhaps this will be changes so that magical equipment might be destroyed, depending on powerlevel.

I don't think it would need to destroy the armor, but perhaps damage and eventually disable it for the current battle.

That would open up so additional strategies for dealing with high protection SCs.
