Smouldering Cone
I just took Abysia out, and their home province has the "Smouldering Cone". Clicking on it tells me about several cool units I "can recruit"...but I don't see a way to recruit them. Am I missing something, or are these only available to the Abysia player?

Yes. Same with virtually all Capitol sites.

That's only because recruiting hydra hatchling is not a capitol-specific site. It can be found elsewhere if you are lucky.

Re: Smouldering Cone
It's interesting to note that you can definitely recruit Hydra Hatchlings if you take over Base Pythium's capitol, but you MIGHT not be able to recruit any kind of Hydra at all if you take over Serpent Cult Pythium's capitol, since they have a slightly different Hydra and Hydra Hatchling that is sacred.

Re: Smouldering Cone
In my Utgard AAR, I cannot recruit hydra hatchlings in Pythium (ex-Serpent Cult). But I have been able to do so in a R'leyh game (same cult).

Re: Smouldering Cone
Just something weird to share. I started a game with Jotunheim the other day and I had the Smouldercone in my home territory. I could hire lava warriors and the mages that the Abysians have. I thought this was kind of wacky considering my guys were all cold based.

Re: Smouldering Cone
Well it is cool, I'm hiring the abysians for research.Even better, the smouldercone doesn't generate heat, at least I don't think so. So all this will do is give me cool fire/blood mages. Which is great cause I set the game up to be Vanheim vs Jotunheim. Which means I win cause I have fire.

Re: Smouldering Cone
Don't get too accustomed to playing Utgard with the Smouldering Cone. This bug'll be patched out -- eventually ...
