You have a 'strings' file from the game? (all the text) or would you like me to send it to you? It lets you snip out all of the unit names, site names, descriptions, etc

I've opened the main exe file with notepad, to find/copy the name of all magic sites. If you've something more practical, yes, I'm very interested. philippe_sacre@hotmail
What is a strings file exactly ?
TIA.

Re: DomII Library
Strings is a command on linux. It will create an output file of everything it THINKS is a word. You do get long lines of DEFG and such but if it didnt treat that as a word then you wouldnt get names and such either.
Anyway the result is a big text file without all the binary stuff to work around. You still have to cut-n-paste the stuff you want into another file but its often alittle more workable than looking at the raw exe. Takes it from 2449895 (exe) to 771844 (strings.txt)

Re: DomII Library
Umh, I guess someone else has noticed already, but
http://www.freewebs.com/sunray_dom2
is frozen due to exceeded bandwith. Any news on this problem?
(I mean the content of the files is there in Google's Cache (search for dom2spell.xls and click html-Version), but html is not what I was looking for. I'd really like to filter all spells according to my mages path's without trying the game or scanning through the manual...)
