Default Exactly what is this game like?

Is it anything like Final Fantasy Tactics? I Haven't played many RPGs(like diablo) I've mosly played stuff like Final Fantasy 7 and Golden sun on GBA, FFT is the closest thing to what this seems like. Can you break down the gameplay step by step for me(real time or turn based, what do I do in a turn)? I can't get the demo, it would take hours to DL(my 56k would just explode and my phone line would burst into flames)

Dungeon Odyssey is basically a hack'n'slash type dungeon romp game. You play the role of an adventurer and roam around towns, wilderness and dungeons looking for treasure and trying to solve quests. Your character will encounter many monsters along the way and find all kinds of nifty stuff that you can either use(wear) or sell for the money. As you play through the game (killing monsters) your character will gain experience. As he/she raises in levels you will get skill/spell and stat points to distribute among your different attributes. (A fighter for example might want to place more skill points in the 'sword mastery' and 'bash door' skills, while a Mage might prefer to increase the 'firebolt' and 'stamina' skills)

There are a variety of quest types like 'find object x', 'kill monster x', 'save/find a person'. Some of the quests require you to return an object to the person who gave you the quest, other quests are completed the moment you find/kill the object/monster.

All in all, Dungeon Odyssey is pretty much a traditional dungeon romp a la rogue, angband, etc. Oh, and Dungeon Odyssey is 'modable' meaning that there are some tools that come with the game that help the player to create his/her own adventures.

I hope this helps! Cheers!

Diablo does not qualify as a RPG, actually. There is no role-playing involved.

It's acutally a pretty good game. I stopped playing it for a while, but now I'm playing a lot again.

As for mods, DO is virtually endless in what you can do.

I think it's best to compare this to the old school RPG's, like Final Fantasy 1, Dungeon Master, and such.
