Re: Will an old save game work with the Patch??
I too have had problems setting up a TCP/IP game.
What I have found to work is:
On the Host PC set up a new game.
Pick all of the gane settings, universe size, game options, ect. first.
Note you do not add Your empire at this time. Just add any computer players.
The Last thing you pick is on the game mecanics screen.
You have to fill in a save game file name.
Pick simutanieous game, different PCs and Host game.
Then start the game. The Host PC will then wait for people to join.
On the other PC have the person pick new game and goto the game mecanics screen.
Pick simutanieous game and , I think it is, Join game.
They will get a screen that lets them fill in the IP address and other stuff.
They will then connect up.
The Host PC will see them connect.
On the host you start the game.
The Remote PC gets a message to pick an empire
They should pick their empire and send it over.
The Host PC see this.
At this point you can add in the empire You want to be.
The host then processes the first turn and The game is On.
The Host plays their turn. Ends their turn.
The host sees a screen the shows the other players.
The other players play their turn and saves it. They see a waiting screen.
When all players are done the Host Processes the turn.
The players get their main screen abck and the Host can play their turn.
Thanks for your help.
