Default Just a bit of help...

Can someone tell me what is the "Personality Group" code in the *_AI_settings.txt? What means if I put a 0 or a 1 or 2 or 3?

And what about "Percentage of Allied Planets to consider as Attack Locations for Anger"?

Whats the meaning of "Percentage of Enemy Planets to consider as Attack Locations for Anger"? Do they consider just attacking the number defined of planets? In that case why are not they defined as 255 to let the computer attach any planet?

Finally: Is there a place where all these lines in the text files are explained? Some of them are very explicit but others... :-(

Thanks in Advance!

I'm not a modder, but I think what follows is correct (I read just about every post on this forum).

We're not sure what the personality Groups means. And there are actually 4 values not 3, but value 4 is rare (only two races have it, I forget which ones). We THINK they are for aggressive, passive, neutral, but we're not sure. At least the Last time anyone mentioned it on the forum here I never saw a clear concensus reached.

# of planets to consider for anger, means that the AI looks at the worlds it knows about that the enemy controls and that it can colonize. It gets an anger mod for each one it knows about. There's an identical file for allies too.

The only place those are all defined are here in the forum, and in the files themselves.

Note that it's a "Percentage" value, not an absolute number. So if you have 200 colonies, and the "Percentage of Enemy Planets to consider as Attack Locations for Anger" is 30, they'll consider 60 of your colonies as attack locations. Does it make more sense now?

Yeah, there are four personality Groups, but they're numbered 0, 1, 2, 3. Like a mathematician would do it. Only the Pope would be so silly as to start counting at 1 (yeah, bad reference to the whole "when did the Millenium REALLY start" controversy).

Oh, and I think the Groups are generally aggressive, neutral, passive and xenophobe. A quick analysis of the AI_settings files could probably reveal a pattern. I think the intent was to make sure there was a mix of personalities in each game (there's a setting someplace that determines percentage of each personality type in a game).
