Re: Your Favorite Ship Size
BBs move as fast as smaller ships in combat. The loss of 1 strategic move point compared to BCs is overshadowed by the Heavy Mounts. DNs lose 1 tactical movement compared to BBs, and have the same mounts. This is why DNs are not my favorite ship size. They are only slightly more effecicient in C&C and Engine space used, but this slight advantage is overshadowed by the slower tactical move. They can be out-flanked/out-ranged by BBs and smaller ships.

Escorts make good, fast, easy to built medical ships that can get rid of those plagues in a flash.

Thanks. I'll check that out. I usually use a Destroyer hull for my "Ambulance" and give it an Emergency Propulsion Pod for that extra boost. Maybe it will squeeze into an Escort.

Re: Your Favorite Ship Size
I voted for Baseship.
It IS slow but by the time you have the infrastructure and technology to use them you also have fast engines and solar sails. If enemy wants to fight he has to come to me, I just destroy his planets. I can fit a repair bay on a baseship and still have plenty of space for weapons. This makes baseships almost immortal.

Re: Your Favorite Ship Size
Well small sizes are too weak, and big sizes are too slow. So medium sizes are best. Your statement doesn't work well here Oleg.

And the baseships can have most % of weapons and shields on them. They have only 2 disadvantages - slow speed(not so imporatnt in strategic combat) and they are easy to hit(but they have many shields and much armor). BTW: If I remember well the "average" BB in hi-tech games cots about 24 kT of minerals. BS about 36 kT. 2 BB's have hard time beating a BS and they cost more. These are the reasons why I prefer BS over BB.
