OT: Anyone play Hegemonia? Opinions of it?
I'm ready for a new game - but nothing much is grabbing my attention. The closest one was Hegemonia - I've heard a little bit about it - but no major game source has done a review yet.
Anyone here played it? Or found professional reviews?
Thx,
J

IGN.com did a review for it. The Demo was fun. You should be able to D/L that for Fileplanet or somewhere of your choseing.

I have it and have played the first couple of missions. It is very pretty! Beautifully rendered 3d world (er, space), full 360* camera views and rotation. Too early to comment on gameplay, but here is a link to Gamespots review of it.

Re: OT: Anyone play Hegemonia? Opinions of it?
Hmm, ya, that review has one paragraph that makes it clear I wouldn't be interested:
"The combat doesn't lend itself well to tactical subtleties. It can be interesting to use the 3D planets and moons as cover for an approaching attack or retreat, but there's otherwise fairly little maneuvering or micromanagement to do. Despite the small number of units that the game's unit cap affords, there isn't much to do in a battle between two lone ships, and it's often impossible to retreat ships from a major battle without losing them all. Fortunately, it's not hard to build more."
I'm already bored with it. The graphics look nice. They should donate all that work to a more interesting game design!

PC Review: Hegemonia. This is on GameSpy; http://www.gamespy.com/reviews/decem...pc/index.shtml
Think I might give a whirl. After reading this review, anyway!
