Default bug? "z" fire

Hi. I'm playing a PBEM game and I can't use fire "z". Is it a bug or some configuration problem?
We are playing Russia vs USA in 2020. There was also a reload game report.

How were you unable to use z fire?

Were you trying to fire at something out of LOS?

Did you have HE ammo and shots remaining for whatever unit was to fire?

Or were you trying to press "F" for a repeat shot of Z fires - that was removed several releases ago, each Z fire shot has to be individually plotted now.

Nothing of that. I want to shoot with "z" fire under LOS conditions, with ammunition. It's very weird. It's a PBEM game so I don't know if I can share the files for you to review. Or it could be done privately. Although I don't remember if the game is full or basic privacy.

Since you were getting load error reports, it is a full privacy game. So not really debuggable.

If you can reproduce that in a regular game so that it is repeatable, then we would have something to work with.

What sort of unit was attempting to fire, what visibility etc? - little things like that are usefult ot know rather than "My unit would not fire Z-fires". It might be the specific unit class for example that has a problem. More actual information is needed.

I have tried infantry and tank units. Even in visible hexes and the "z" shot doesn't work. That is why it is very rare.
The other player also reported the same problem.

Of course, it may be the same as smoke X-fire, which sometimes refuses to fire, keep repeating till it actually does. That one has always been there, and Z-fire may well be the same inherited from SP1 buglet.

If you tell us what nations and what time period and what visibily and which units you are using ( just the ones you are trying to Z fire with not them all ) then Maybe we can recreate it but right now you and your opponent are the only ones that cannot Z fire that I know of

.......who set up the game ? You or him ?
