Re: Scenarios by Zovs66
I strung the remaining five scenarios together as an improvised campaign - based on date. To be played as Hungary. Core force roughly 1400 battle points.
HQ
Recon Element (Armoured Car Plt, MC Platoon)
Medium Tank Company(-) (Two Platoons)
Infantry Company(-) (Two Platoons, one HMG section)
Anti Tank Detachment (one T34, two Stug, two 76mm At-guns, two 57mm At-guns, two trucks)
Pioneer platoon
Transport Group (5 trucks), i.e. enough transport for one infantry platoon.
No artillery, no AA, no Pz IV.
First scenario scn 537 - Kursk: Assault
Played it through - no problems with the map or the Soviet forces. I did not expect the mortars or the Soviet air and the IL-2s damaged one of the precious StuG IIIs, killed two trucks and some infantry. I was expecting dug in anti-tank guns but found none.
The scenario plays out fine. The Soviet AFV counterattack is directed on the lower bridge area. In a long range shoot-out with the Soviet units I lost one Turan. The counterattack had to be dealt with by flanking fire from the Anti-Tank detachments heavier weapons. One SU-152 was taken out by an infantry section. Medal to that squad leader...

Re: Scenarios by Zovs66
Played through the rest of the scenarios with my Hungarian core force. Found no problems with the maps or the Soviet forces. The attacks/counterattacks by the AI play out fine. I was not able to defeat the SU-85s in the Hube Pocket scenario, ended with a draw...

Re: Scenarios by Zovs66
Cool, got 11-13 just about created, there is 24 "official" ones on the eastern front I'd like to complete, and then 25-34 go to the western front and somewhere in there I'd like to make 2 mini-campaigns based off of 3rd Mech Corps (Russians), Ukraine 43-44 (Germans) and a small 2 scenario campaign Brody ('41). I am also building a series of Casino mini campaigns (1 US, 1 Indian and one Polish, all from 2/44 to 5/44). My hopes is that I'll have all 34 of the Panzer scenarios done and 3-6 mini-campaigns done by end of year. I think that after I do the Panzer conversions I will switch to mini-campaigns (2-7 battles per). I like these mini configurations seems like a player can complete one in a week or so (or less).

Re: Scenarios by Zovs66
Hey fellows (and any gals) so I updated the first post with the new scenarios. There are 24 of them in total (thus far), and they all cover the Eastern Front from 1941 to 1945 (mostly 1943 however). They have been converted from the Panzer format into SPWW2 format and the maps are all based off of the SP Camo map generator code with some to a lot of tweaks. They have been designed primarily for PBEM, however I have added way points for the Player Two side and tweaked a few things to help the AI just a little bit without giving the player 2 too much of an advantage.
To me these are pretty fast and furious type of battles and even against the AI you should have a bit of a run. I did try to make them hard for the human vs. AI.
Lastly, I have from these scenarios I am in the process of creating 3 campaigns for them. And I also plan on doing the 10 Western Front ones to make it complete, and make 2 campaigns out of that one.
Feedback is welcome and let me know if there is anything broken.
Thank you.
Don (aka zovs66)

Re: Scenarios by Zovs66
So per the first post in this thread, I renamed the thread and also added in the rest of the Panzer Scenario conversions I have made. This brings it up to 40 total Panzer scenario conversions. All 34 from GMT and 6 third party ones (there are more I may add later on, but want to switch to another board game to convert over).
It has been a blast converting, designed and play testing these. All are fun and pretty fast, ranging from meeting engagements, advances, delays and assaults. All can be played either PBEM or against the AI and I made notes on which side to play (generally if playing against the AI you'll want to take player one). Some of these are hard or were intended to be hard to 'solve'. Great care was taken to make, them as balanced as possible and to assist or help the AI out as well.
If you see or experience any glaring holes or issues please let me know.
Any and all feedback is welcome.
Hope you enjoy...

Re: Scenarios by Zovs66
SCN 547 Beginning of the End.
Suicide mission for the Reds. They are out numbered and out classed by the German forces even before the reinforcements arrive.
were there supposed to be more Russian units?

Not at the moment. Did you use the smoke and arty? When I played through it, I found it tough but I used the smoke to get my guys up there in front of or on the hill picked off the Germans.
I'll test it once again and see if more force is needed. I'd like to re-camo the IVF2's also.

Re: Scenarios by Zovs66
I would advise against getting too carried away re-assigning Icons. ALL of the Pz III's and IV's and their derivatives that used the same hull in both games have been redone for the next patch ( and that is a lot of Icons AND more variations have been added to the files).....so what you are seeing now isn't what you will see after the next release for Pz III's, Stugs, Pz IV, T34, and a number of trucks.. ( and T44, T54/55 T62 in MBT )
