Off-board artillery peeve...
I call for off-board artillery and it arrives, I adjust it so it is hitting where I want and, after a turn or two it ends.
Now, the turn right after it ends I call for it again at the same target hex and get a delay of "0" - presumably (and logically) because it is just continuing the same fire mission it was just shooting.
My peeve is that the artillery (accuracy-wise) acts like this is a brand new "call for fire" and I have to adjust the artillery to get the same target hex it was hitting just fine the previous turn.
Seems like a simple procedure but am I doing something wrong here?

Re: Off-board artillery peeve...
If you don't have an observer with LOS of the shoot then it is unobserved map fire and so will be subject to drift.

Re: Off-board artillery peeve...
Thank you for the prompt answer.
I had hoped that since the artillery is just continuing the same mission it had been shooting it would keep hitting the same hex it had been hitting all along. Ah well!

Hmm,wonders why you are even getting a 0 delay on a new fire ploting
The game is fluid as in most targets are moving and adjustments need to made, even you are bombarding stationary units.

Andy told you......"If you don't have an observer with LOS of the shoot then it is unobserved map fire and so will be subject to drift. "........... YOU adjusted it but as "God Player" you see everything on the map but to maintain accurate fire you NEED an observer who can see the target hex to maintain accuracy... it's not "fire and forget"

Becasue it's not a "new" fire mission. He's just starting it up again on the same target as before.

Re: Off-board artillery peeve...
Back in my officer training course, we were always taught that for fires to be effective, we need to have eyes on the ground. Makes perfect sense how the current engine runs the fire missions.
