Default Spike ATGM

There seem some discrepencies across diffrent OOBs, range is what I have noticed.
Spike ER normaly 8-80, Spike or Spike MR 4-50
Sure I have seen ER with min range of 4 & max range of 160.

The main ranges are OK. It's the minimum ranges that are a bit confused. Now fixed

depends on which version of spike you have, and what it is named at the time too.

Wiki I know but : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spike_%28missile%29

Note the ER ('Dandy' in Israeli service?) version is 8Km range, and is used by the Finnish coastal rangers. (18 launchers, for anti-ship use mentioned in the wiki article)

Though they apparently have the MR version - the one we have for regular infantry use should probably best be renamed to MR and range reduced accordingly (the few A/Sh ones can safely be ignored?).

If it's of any use : the ER version is also in use on the Romanian MLI-84M IFV (on the OWS-25R station) and the IAR-330 SOCAT helicopter.

Are you SURE the MLI-84M uses the ER and not the LR ? The ER is typically the Helicopter version

While we're on that subject you can check two other things for me. That vehicle was one where the info seemed a bit off

1/ the ammo load for the 84M. The source I have right now says 200x25mm and that seems a bit low but there's a lot crammed into that vehicle

2/ The number of Spikes they carry. The source I have right now suggests the early version carries 4 and the later version 8

Re-quoting the sources from my post about IFVs.

http://www.army-guide.com/eng/product1018.html
http://www.mfaromania.ro/ows.htm (bottom-right of the web page a tiny UK flag if the page mistakenly appears in romanian)
http://tpb.traderom.ro/expozitii/dom...FA/MLI84_M.htm

1) Ran across that myself.

The way I understand it, it's only the OWS-25R station /w 25mm KBA Oerlikon A/C that has 200 rounds ready to fire, dual-fed, 60 AP + 140 HE typically.

Within the MLI-84M itself there are 450 extra rounds at least according to the 1st and 3rd links.

Bottom line : a 650 round grand total of 25mm shells.

2) Notice the 3rd link is acting up, so here's a replacement :

http://rft.forter.ro/2007_6/07-arm/05.htm

Online issue of the official Romanian Army Magazine, June 2007.

It's in Romanian, but seek out picture paragraph 3.3 " Instalaţie de lansare rachete antitanc " - ad literam "Installation for lanunching anti-tank missiles" ("rocket" and "missile" same word in Romanian - "racheta")

In the table : "Numar containere" - "Number of containers" = 2.

This checks out with the first two sources as well.

Bottom line : the OWS-25R station only has room for 2 x ATGM mounted, and 2 x ATGM are stowed in the vehicle.
