Life after Death vs. Shapechange

An interesting question: What happens to shapechangers when the spell Life after Death is in play?


Presumably the effect of Life after Death is to add a second soulless shape to all friendly units on the battlefield. Such that when they are killed they come back as that soulless. But what if, like shapechangers, the unit already has a second shape?? Is it overriden?

My educated guess is that it does not, just adds Soulless onto the end of it, but I don't really know...That's an excellent question, though!

Pretty sure Life After Death uses a different mechanic from shapechanging.

Don't know what would happen in the situation you describe though - probably just LaD after their last shape dies. Easy to test if you care.

Tested. Works as you'd hope, i.e. they only turn to zombies after all their normal shapes have been killed.
