Detect Glamour
Is it possible to detect enemy glamour units on the enemy territory with Astral Projection? If not, is there any way?

Re: Detect Glamour
I understand Glamour troops are still stealthy troops, just with a large stealth bonus, meaning patroling with enough troops should still uncover them.

Re: Detect Glamour
They cannot be spotted at all when within their own territory... like when they raid you. I've tried Eyes of God to no avail.

Yes, patrolling surely detects them on YOUR territory. I was asking about detecting them on THEIR territory. Still thanks.

Thank you, just as I thought...

Re: Detect Glamour
You pretty much have to attack the province with scouts and/or remote spells.

You can try casting spells like earth attack and disease demon, but it depends how many commanders are traveling in the province.

Re: Detect Glamour
I'm fairly sure that a Glamoured unit will not be susceptible to most types of ritual magic. Your spell comes back as having no target.
One spell that MAY work is Strands of Arcane Power. There is a small chance of detecting an enemy mage and casting Soul Slay on them... but probably this method is very inefficient and hard to pull off. I've heard Strands is a poor global.
A good spell that can work against raiding Sidhe or Vans, say, would be Haunted Forest. Those manikins deal brutal stun damage and are immune to cold, one of the most common weapons of the raiders being the Frost Brand.
If they aren't immune to lightning, Wrath of God may also be a viable option.

Re: Detect Glamour
The cheapest way to see the entire army remotely is to cast call of the winds. It's only 5 air gems, takes a air 2 mage to cast, and gives you a detailed makeup of the enemies defending army, even the glamored part of it. The alternative is to attack with a retreating scout.
The unfortunate thing is that you can't see their army without initiating an attack. Therefore there is no way to gauge a glamored nation's force before you start a war. The information may still be inaccurate if the glamored units are stealthing in their own territory, which easily happens when they aren't at war with you. You might get away with saying that the scout was suppose to stealth rather then move, but casting call of the winds would certainly be seen as an act of war.

Re: Detect Glamour
Call of the Winds and other remote spells do not work against glamoured units because of the fact that the default behavior for stealthy units is Hide. And those are the units that you REALLY don't want to be surprised by.

Re: Detect Glamour
When all else fails, diplomacy might work - explain to the target nation your problem and ask for either an NAP or war. (Attack with scout if NAP is not agreed).
