Re: A Poisoner\'s Guide to LA Pythium
edit
Oh wait, NT were you talking specifically about the curse-poison combo?
edit
Thats true NT, but the objective of the poison army is to wipe out regular troops in the early-mid stages of the game. After that its just a powerful tool in the box of strategies available to you later on. But you shouldnt think that a Hydra-poison army is particular vulernable to SCs. First of all, by the same token you can deploy all your own undead thugs/SCs with that army without any fear which basically balances things out. And even that aside, Hydra's are surprisingly tough against SCs. They have a ton of attacks to reduce defense and thier hits are pretty hard as well. Not to mention that each head maxes out at 6hp damage so there is only so much damage an SC can do per turn.
I'd also considered writing an anti-SC segment in the late game part of the guide as well. But it was already so long I didnt want to make it any bigger

Good guide.
Just one little error : "When you finally have time to research Alteration, you will also gain access to Will of the Fates and Antimagic"
Antimagic is in enchantment.

Death is also a possibility, to boost up the Hydra's fear factor and make access to the high death spells easier.

Hmmm. Does a death bless boost fear on sacred units? I've never tried it but I'm surprised. Are you sure this isn't from DomII?

Re: A Poisoner\'s Guide to LA Pythium
Isn't it +fear for low levels and then like extra afflications or something at level 9? Who has a manual handy?

Heliodromus can easy forge fetishes. And satyrs are good victims for this.

Re: A Poisoner\'s Guide to LA Pythium
It's + affliction chance for the "normal" levels and then a 2AN damage magical attack at 9. (Pretty sure the number is 2)
(Magical attack = similar to the F9 bless just AN instead of AP and less damage)
EDIT: MR negates then? Didn't remember that. Nor the disease part, I don't remember reading about any disease.

Extra afflictions at low levels, then death weapons (an mr negated damage, and disease) at level 9.

Ah ok. I will clip the death commentary from the guide then. Thanks!
Twan: I put in your edit too.

Re: A Poisoner\'s Guide to LA Pythium
Hehehe, Napty - you are a cruel overlord But yeah LA Pyth can pretty easily forge Fever Fetishes. The problem is that thier fire magic really isnt good enough to support extended use of them so I'm not sure its worthwhile to invest really heavily in fetishes. If you found some strong indy fire mages tho, that'd make it worth your while.
Putting them on Satyrs seems like a waste tho, as amusing as it is. Even tho they are free (in terms of fort time) they are still assassins. Give them a skull talisman or the thorn staff (the 5N one) and they are actually pretty tough. Better to just use Scouts for a fetish since they are pretty common in the LA.
