Default Pretender Hitpoints

Pretender hitpoints aren't working properly with the way they interact with regen. While a pretender attacking into enemy territory has hitpoints based on the province they're attacking from, their regen is based on the province that they're in.

I find this highly misleading, and accidently just sent my pretender to his death because of this. Had he had the regen that he displayed, and should have based on his hitpoints during the fight, he would have won handily.

If it's WAD it's extremely non-intuitive that regen, which is based directly off of a % of hitpoints for every other unit in the game, is instead based off of the candle level for pretenders.

If I understood you correctly, the regen icon claims regen is % value of current hp, while it should show % value of max hp.

Is this right? If it is, it's a display bug, and you should report it as such.

It seemed to me that what is buggy is the max level of HP, which should be dependent of the candle level of the actual province, and not of the one you left one (or more ) turn earlier.

Current hp will adjust slowly, while a statistic called "max hp" governs effectivity of regeneration. This has been brought up couple of times, but I prefer it this way.

Yeah I brought this up before. I can see the thematic reasons for current HP going up and down. However, I am still wondering why max HP doesn't follow the same rules as current HP.

But regen isn't based on percentage of hit points for any units. Obviously pretenders and prophets, but also check any unit that life drains. They can get above max hp and will gradually drop down to max, just like pretenders.
Regen remains based on max hp, and IIRC doesn't even start until you're down below max.

I'm pretty sure I've always seen regen display correctly.

another thing, a pretender whow should get bonus hitpoints (from dominion) does not get those if he suffers from disease, then he just loses 1 HP from his base and NEVER gets ANY bonus (not based on his original HP, not on his current HP)

a bug perhaps?

Aezeal, I think that's WAD because a Diseased unit cannot heal HPs (unless it regens) so it's maximum HPs will increase but he will not be healed up to them.
