Re: Vietnam Specific OOBs
Thanks a lot. What is the source on this (as in what's the title of the overall document)? Can you dl the whole document online from the USMC?

Re: Vietnam Specific OOBs
Source is the official USMC web site.
I couldn't figure out how to access the overall document.
I'd imagine you could contact the Historical Branch to get this or any of the other 5,000,000 tons of official documents they have.

Re: Vietnam Specific OOBs
The good news is that whatever my next release looks like the total conversion will have the correct flags for Laos and Philippines, and a proper miniflag for the MACV/SOG oob. I'm still trying to work out flags for the USAF and USN oobs. I made the USAF miniflag the USAF roundel, but I'm not sure how good it will look if I try to make the actual USAF flag for the others (I might stick with the roundel for the other flags). The USN might be difficult as there's no good way around having to take a stab at a very low res version of the official USN flag.

Re: Vietnam Specific OOBs
Yeah, I've definitely thought about picking that book up, and I've spent a fair amount of time talking with Gordon Rottman himself for this project actually. His Order of Battle book on the US Army, which is supposed to focus more on smaller unit organization, is coming out in March.
I also found the location of the rest of the Vietnam Pubs on the USMC website: http://www.usmc.mil/directiv.nsf/HIS...t=5000&start=1

Re: Vietnam Specific OOBs
Here's a question. If I stopped work on the Vietnam Specific OOB and concentrated completely on the total conversion, and moved the OOBs and such from the VSP into the Total Conversion would people miss not having the "lite" version of the pack?

Re: Vietnam Specific OOBs
I'd prefer a TC pack even if it is missing some minor things.
IOW if it has the US, ARVN and NVA/VC in and mostly done.

Re: Vietnam Specific OOBs
I'm thinking its gotten to the point where I'm going to combine the two, because creating picklists for two versions of an OOB seem to more than I'm willing to do hehe.

Re: Vietnam Specific OOBs
TC sounds the way to go, what with the amount of work and mods you have piled up. I mean, once you've dabbled in the data proper you can't expect an OOB pack to do the job, except if you work on two totally separate versions using your add-ins and the stock files respectively.
