Lightning Crackle noise?

So I just bought the download version of this and have been fiddling with the races in skirmish and getting a feel for them. I've noticed that on some turns, when my turn starts, there will be a lightning crackle noise as the turn button highlights. What exactly is this signifying?

BTW, I am loving this game. I was playing the demo a bunch beforehand, and just now took the plunge into the full version. Kudos Hiro Antagonist (and others), for making pure digital crack

Hey there,

I'm glad to hear you're liking the game!

That sound means that a status effect on a unit has expired gone away. If you hear it at the end of your turn, it means one the effects on your unit expired, and if you hear it at the end of your opponent's turn, it means one of their effects expired.
