Does old age really affect Ermor
I have never played Ermor(but against them tons of times).
Can't they they cast ritual of rebirth on themselves and come back with all their magic in tact?

Re: Does old age really affect Ermor
Well, wight mages tend to come back with afflictions...
Does anyone know if an affliction or two is generated during the rebirth process, or if they just keep their afflictions from life? If the later, rebirth won't be much help for an old mage, since the lethal disease will probably give them a stack of afflictions before they die.

Re: Does old age really affect Ermor
Ritual of Rebirth only works if they are heroes, and brings them back a mummies. The rank and file mage won't be helped.
Twiceborn will work and bring them back as wight mages, but they will have a pile of afflictions. Personally, at 9 death gems a mage, thats mighty expensive just to save a really afflicted mage.
Making anti-aging items, empowering in Nature, or using powerful Blood magic is the only way to stop aging.

Yeah, I was thinking of Twiceborn in my post.
Death magic reduces the chance of getting afflictions from age, but it doesn't help against the stat penalties. (Nature does, since it just increases max age.)

Re: Does old age really affect Ermor
Unfortunately, most of Ermor's useful troups are undead, but NOT lifeless, and therefore will be afflicted by Burden of Time. The Gift of Health with remove afflictions, and if you create The Chalice (Const. 8 by N4 S3 mage) and the Gate Stone (Const. 8 by E6 S6 mage), then you can teleport the cup around and spread its healing effects!
[Note that both The Gift of Health and The Chalice will remove feeblemindedness from your troups including your afflicted Tartarians! making them powerful indeed.]

Re: Does old age really affect Ermor
I thought it was the other way around - that lifeless undead units aged under burden of time, but normal undead did not,..?

So I want to leave Gift of Health up?! The only reason I have it up is to keep my opponent from casting it. I didn't think it would do any good for LA Ermor. I was about to dispel it to recover the slot for Burden of Time--something I thought would be harmless other than to my clam-making nerieds and a few militia that haven't managed to die yet.

Re: Does old age really affect Ermor
All you have to do for the correct answer is read the unit's description of undead. Undead units are not affected by the burden of time because-drum roll-they are already dead.
That is what it means to die, and then have some foul necromancer raise up your bones, and imbue your bones with enough magic to make them move.
But since your flesh is gone, you cannot be poisoned. Since you are already dead-you cannot be diseased.
And because you are already dead, you do not care what day of the week it is, or even what year it is. You do not care what time it is-because the passing of time no longer affects your magically animated bones.

Of course to prove the lie, my bane lord just gets diseased in a game that i am playing with ma ctis. But I am pretty sure this is just a bug, though i think this bug has been around for quite some time.

Undead can get diseased, but it doesn't affect them.
