That's a bit off-topic, but I always wondered...
What effect does Blood blessing have on Mictlan Sun Warriors ? They have javelins, you know. And both range and power of javelins are based on strength. If I remember correctly, range is strength/2.
The question is: does Blood blessing actually make javelins better ? It should increase their range, but does it have negative effect on accuracy or what ? I ask because it would make sense that it's harder to hit a target that's further away, and units tend to throw javelins from max range. So would Blood blessing work in my favor when using javelins ?
I assume Sun Warriors are still present in Dominions3.

Javelins' range and damage are both increased, but I don't know what happens to the hit rate.
I also just realized that there are now some nations who use Javelins AND can cast Strength of Giants! I've wanted to be able to do that in all iterations of Ermor/Pythium, but now we have Marverni, at least, and perhaps EA Pangaea; I'm not sure if they can afford to have enough Pans for one to cast something like that, but it could work... Pangaea could also use Rush of Strength in late game. Hmm...

Re: Blessings balance?
If 'stronger' javelins actually suffer an accuracy loss, I'd mod javelins to make their range fixed. Perhaps I'm overreacting, but I'd hate to see myself punished for choosing Blood curse. That way, they'd get range increase for Blood without decrease in accuracy.
Hmm. Now how about slings...

Those are called 'glandes'. They were made from lead. Celsus, the author of "De Medicina", included instructions for removing glandes from wounded soldiers. The size of the slingstones varied with the ages; http://www.christiananswers.net/dictionary/sling.html shows a nice picture where two larger slingstones from Bronze Age, a tennis ball and a smaller, Hellenistic one are next to each other.
They haven't been changed in Dom3, but shortbows are very good especially in the Early Age. Slingers might be worth their price if no shortbows were available.

Re: Blessings balance?
OK, so they still suck glandes.
Umor, that sounds so dirty.

Re: Blessings balance?
Let's say the strength buff is +4. That's only 4 more range. I don't think the accuracy is going to be that much worse with only 4 more range. Although, maybe a range cap is a good idea for the future. No squad (hopefully) is going to be stupid enough to throw their javelins from a range they can't hit anything, hehe.
