I went to my game directory and then went to AI DESIGN TYPES DATA FILE to change the weapon order. I then came out with this:
Majority Weapon Family Pick 1 := 1
Majority Weapon Family Pick 2 := 3
Majority Weapon Family Pick 3 := 9
Majority Weapon Family Pick 4 := 8
Majority Weapon Family Pick 5 := 25
Secondary Weapon Family Pick 1 := 1
Secondary Weapon Family Pick 2 := 0
Secondary Weapon Family Pick 3 := 0
Secondary Weapon Family Pick 4 := 0
Secondary Weapon Family Pick 5 := 0
I thought meson Beam came before ripper Beam. When I enter the game and play for a while, my ships are equiped with Ripper beams (on list ripper = 9) I completed the whole tech for meson blaster and I have only one level for the ripper beam. Why is it now that the ripper beam is now showing up on my ship build...?
The AI will add one type of weapon from Majority group and one type of weapon from Secondary group. For each group, the lowest Pick number has priority. With your example, if the AI was weapon family 3 available, it will NEVER add any weapons of family 9, 8 or 25 to the ship design. Once weapon family 1 is available, it will be the only weapon used.
So add from lowest tech to higest in other other words. Or will the AI just automatically choose the best tech weapon?
