Default Bushwhacked now available

The newest creation of the SPMBT Wild team, Bushwhacked, is now available. It is a joint Aussie-US operation in North Korea in October, 1950.

You can find it at the Wargamer, Game Depot section

http://www.wargamer.com/gamesdepot/details.asp?sid=4076

It is just what it says it is. There is a nice AAR from Skirmisher in the After Action reports but I suggest playing the battle yourself before reading it. That will keep some surprise in the game.

I can't wait to try this out and compare it to your WAW Korea scens. As good as your WAWs are I bet this is good in a different way. Like Mex vs TexMex cooking.

For those who want to read the whole story
Tank Action at Chongju US Army CMH

In the discussion at the bottom, Dolvin is chastised for "Z key firing" through smoke and foliage.

This is a tough one. The only one I have tested where I have only gotten a minor victory. And only then once. The first time I played I was just about wiped out.

Played it yesterday. NKPA grunts popping up all over.... yikes! Good fight. 'bout overheated my Vickers cooling jackets on this one. Pull off a DV at the end, but lost a
couple valueable Pershings in the process. Good on WB.

Good replies and reports. Thanks Skotty. This is one of my favorites, one that offers some good replay value. After getting my own butt kicked in my first play, I enjoyed using different tactics, but it took me awhile and about six plays to get a decisive and that was on the last turn!

And I designed this little bugger!

I'm glad you've hung in J2K. I think you'll like this one. I appreciate you including some historical reference in your note. Its good reading.

I was about to ask the same thing. The "aussie" infantry show Brit ID tags. Was it a mixed Australian/ British force that fought this engagement Bill?

Don

( Interesting scenario BTW. It kept me up last night )

The Brigade commander was a Brit.
From the link above:
"This force was built around the British 27 Commonwealth Brigade which, at the time, consisted of a battalion from the Royal Australian Regiment, a battalion from the Argyle and Sutherland Regiment, and a battalion from the Middlesex Regiment. Since these infantry battalions were without supporting arms or services of their own, Eighth Army attached to the brigade U.S. artillery units, engineers, and the 89th Medium Tank Battalion. This combined force, commanded by Brig. B. A. Coad of the British Army, was under the operational control of the 1st Cavalry Division, but worked as a separate task force at a considerable distance from, and without physical contact with, that division or other friendly units."
I made a version of this battle for CMAK and the same thing happens there for the country flag, but not the individual units.
