Default Speeding up battle resolution messages

How do I speed up the battle resolution messages(info after each weapon hit/miss)?

BTW, this runs great on my contemporary rig under WinXP! Thanks team. I ordered the CD as well.

In the preferences screen - set the MESSAGE DELAY slider to a lower value (can go down to 0).

( See the Game Manual, "Preferences Screen" shortcut in the LHS of the screen.)

Also, there are 2 other items in the INI file, which will be exposed in the Game Options control panel in the patch, for those of you who need to tweak these.

Graphics Delay (Graphdelay in the INI file)
Unit Move Delay (UnitMoveDelay in the INI file)

In the \game data\ folder you will find the camogame.ini - open with a text editor (the supplied one with windows should already be associated with INI files). find the graphics section

[graphics]
; graphics timings

; minimum graph delay (in milliseconds) between frames
; set to 0 to pump out graphics as fast as your CPU can handle,
; try larger numbers to slow down very fast CPU/GFX cards

Graphdelay=40

;How much to wait per hex a unit moves (Milliseconds)
UnitMoveDelay=50

;battle sounds level
BattleSoundsLevel=-600


So - if your PC is a tad slow - try speeding up Graphdelay by perhaps halving it to 20 milliseconds of a wait between frames and animations etc should go faster.

UnitMoveDelay is a wait on multi-hex unit moves between hexes travelled - reducing this will make the units scoot across the battlefield faster, slowing will make them pause a bit if you think they go too fast on your PC.

As I said - there will be edit fields on the MISC tab of the Game Options control panel in the forthcoming patch.

BattleSoundsLevel is a deviation in decibels from the normal sound level (explosions etc) and is set at -600 decibels to move the battle sounds to a lower level than regular sounds. It should not need fixing, but is available for those of you who use the background FX tracks want to fiddle with it. 0 would have the backround FX at the same volume as the foreground gun and unit move FX. -800 would quiet the backround FX a lot (logaritmic scale).
(That one will not be exposed on the control panel as it is a rarity).

The messages could be sped up a little IMHO
Even with message delay set to fastest, graphics and all s that set faster, they still hold up the action a little.
like you have to wait for the message to finish before the action resumes or something of that nature.
not much but it is noticeable.

not much but it is noticeable.
Already fixed for the patch, as noted elsewhere.
