Default PBW - AI control of your empire?

I need to ship my computer halfway across the country, and obviously won't have access to it for playing SE4. I don't want to hold up the PBW game I'm in. I turned all my AI ministers on, but I can't figure out how to make it automate my turns so I don't have to submit them. Anybody know?

You don't have to do anything. If you don't submit your turn on time, the AI will automatically take it for you.

Unfortunately, the AI is a brain-damaged sub-grade moron. What I really wish we had was an option to have our ships/empire just do NOTHING at all. This would almost always be better than having the IDIOT AI take our turn for us.

On the subject of PBW, I just can't say enough good things. I'm playing in Game 1 of the first round of Geo's Survivor Tourney. We are now in either the Last stages of the mid-game or the beginnings of the end-game. So far, this has been the best, most exciting game of SE4 I have ever played. I just had this HUGE, brawling, no-holds-barred fleet engagement against Golf Prez, and what a blood-bath that was.

The Phong had larger, more-modern ships, with more-modern weapons on them. But my brave Monkey People went up against his BC's and CA's in DD's and CL's, and we won

How did this happen, you ask? Aaaah, but that would be telling, wouldn't it?

Possums right, if you dont send your turn the AI will play for you. But the catch to that is that you have to wait till it timeouts, which can be several days depending on the settings.

So whoever is the game owner in your game could just goto the game admin screen and press the execute turn button once they see that all files are in bar yours, and then they wont have to wait till it timeouts.

Just another option your game might consider

There is a proposed enhancement on the to-do list for PBW to allow you change your state so the game won't wait for you when you will be unable to play.

Two suggestions:
1. Get someone to play your turn for you with permission of your game admin. It will be much much better than letting the AI play and it won't hold up the game.

2. Or else if you are only going to miss 2 or 3 turns, then go into the empire options and ministers and set the flag that tells the AI to do nothing in simultaneous games. It will still do terrible stuff but much less than otherwise. If you fill all your queues (construction, research, movement etc.) it won't change your orders. It will mess up your designs and take every opportunity to destroy your position. But it is better than giving it a free hand.

Well my empire is in such poor shape the AI can't really damage it, I just didn't want to hold up the game. Things are so bad for me, I'm getting the Minimum Empire Resource Generation and that's it.

Oh yeah, that's something to add to the to-do list: if you get reduced to 1 system, you should get the resources produced in that single system even if you don't have a spaceport.

Wow, if the empire is in that bad shape you might just ask the game admin to "finish" it. That will turn it over to the AI for the rest of the game, and then when you have moved, you can join a new game and try for a better position.
