Why dont you go to the Lab and press the "pool" button there? I always wondered why shift-Z is there at all! Does it work differently to pooling?

There's no keystroke that from the main map collects astrals into the lab, AFAIK, but you can always go into the lab and pool all astrals with a click. It'll also strip astrals that you'd rather be retained for battle if the commander's in a lab, but *shrug* no interface is perfect.

Ah, that's what I needed. I haven't been in that part of the interface since demo days - I'd forgotten it existed!

Yes, it only takes blood slaves off of the commanders you have selected currently. This allows you to only remove blood slaves from non-sacrificing priests when playing Mictlan.
