MP Game - Forgotten Wars (another Faerun)
You've to take Human or Immobile pretender.
(so on New Path Cost = 10, or Map Movement = 0).
5 starting provinces
Rich World
Very Hard Research
3 Indep Str
HoF 15
Magic Site = 50
Atlantis and Ryleh are closed, no sea nations.
Van and C'tis are closed, due to indep castles near capitol, and they could start with a 2nd castle.
Minimum 8 players to start the game.
No anonimous.
On Mosehansen port 2271

Your game is big time flawed. The smart people who take jotun or Mictlan (and whoever borders Van) will have a major advantage of dealing with only computer AI, or even better a closed slot.

cohen is notorious for creating games w/ bizarrely intricate and non-standard settings crafted to give him a chance at winning. it never happens though
he's also notorious for stealing a large number of the mosehansen slots to use for his desparate attempts.
Then, after a series of extremely aggressive diplomatic demands, upon a little setback, he generally goes AI.
and then starts yet another game on mosehansen.
JJColorado - the caelum slot in the other faerum game should be freed up soon, since I w/drew.

I kind of liked the idea of a Faerun with human pretenders and very slow research (i.e., potentially infinitely long game in a huge world without excessive magic). I would have hoped for victory locations (like, need 50 of 50+capitols), and more like 25% site frequency, though. I guess people are saying the map is too unfair when there aren't enough players. Pity, since it would likely be hard to keep 17 players participating.

lets see how it works cause the settings aren't very ermorfriendly

well, whether he's a quitter isn't really germaine to his hogging slots. Cohen, there has been remarkably little interest in this game. please free up the slot so that someone else can put up a game.
perhaps we could get that "cradle of zen" game up?

True enough - that's why I only put in the one word, 'quitter', as a ... homonym(?), a word that means the same as his name.
But yes - I have more of a leaning towards difficult magic games than most (other than Cohen), and I still find they get tedious when there's too many of them. Add in the other bizarre restrictions, and it's no surprise there's not much interest, and that's the real issue - if Cohen were starting games that were of great general interest, instead of the same things over and over, it'd be different.
perhaps we could get that "cradle of zen" game up?
That'd be awesome, as an interesting map that allows a decent, reasonable, amount of players. (Faerun needs close to 15 at least, imo, which means the likelihood of quitters is high, even without bizarre rules.) I like the smaller map games myself in a lot of ways, but feel like the low number of players supported is better suited to email or private hosting, rather than taking up a slot on mosehansen.
If only there were some great small maps. ( Cirlani and Urgaiea(sp?) are both okay, but certainly not on a par with, mmm, Cradle, Parganos, Faerun, or Tyrande (those are ones I've looked at - I'm not insulting others), albeit far better than Aran, which won't be suitable for MP until someone issues a .map file that's fixed for MP play; that should probably be done by / via Illwinter, since it's an official map.)
