Absolutely perfect information from a spy

Is it possible to get perfect information from a spy? I have been astounded to find that my totally average spy (the freebie you get when playing Marignon, in this case) has been giving me scaringly precise information on the provinces he's been to, such as their defence value, unrest levels, taxation level, income, resources, exact population level -- and all of this in ENEMY territory. I have no global enchantments up (it's turn 10ish). This is my first time playing Marignon, and have only used scouts before. Are all spies *this good*?

I don't know that spies always give perfect information as you indicated, however they definately give much more information than the usual scouts, including some information on sites and commanders and such.

Makes sense : the scout rides up to visual range, and makes estimates of things. The spy on the other paw is right in the midst of the enemy, sleeping with politicians and leaders, drinking their wine, enjoying their food, and thinking "Man, this is SO much better than being in the infantry!"
