Re: I Love This Game
I'd say Warcraft 3, but after hearing about how bad those forums are and actually looking...
I don't even know how they manage to use a web browser or feed themselves most of the Posts are so painfully stupid. I'm not sure what age you'd have to be to make Posts like that.
And I'm not quite sure I agree with some of the things in your linked text file there...I won't get into a detailed argument, but I don't think quantum theory has "moved things from understandable provable scientific rules" Now admittedly quantum systems behave in a way very much out of the realm of everyday experience so they cannot be understood by simple analogies. And quantum theory is just as provable as the rest of physics...if it wasn't it wouldn't be a theory. Admittedly we can't know exactly if things work like the theory says they do, but the results we get conform with experiment, and that's how we came up with gravitation and everything else.

12, usually. The fact that they're innately stupid doesn't hurt, either. You're only young once, but stupidity is forever. Look at some of those makes my eyes hurt. I really do miss the old days of computing. Back when you had to be smart to use a computer, because the power switch was hidden in the back. Ah....those were the days.

Re: I Love This Game
In the good old days, when you had to make a new config.sys and autoexec.bat for every game, with enough of x free for one, and y free for another. lol. Yeah.
Except that meant I had to do 9 times the work, since I'm the tech support guy in the family

And about the Post making your eyes bleed....go to any Counter-Strike or any other First Person Shooter MP forum and you will run away screaming....or even worse...a Ultima Online forum (They are the worst....I played it in the beginning but quit beacuse of the majority of the players mentality)anyway....did see where this was going but.....ugh..

Hehe. If you were *truly* sharp (joke, no offense meant) you'd've figured out a way to teach at least one of your family members basic competency and stuck them with the role of support ...

Yeah, tell me about it. That's where I learned "smacktard" from. It so eloquently described the feelings I had about the issue, that I was instantly enamored by the word. Arryn seem to have taken a liking to it also.

Yeah, my intro to computers in high school was an IBM 360 mainframe. In those days, you got a *real* feeling of power sitting at the ops console to key in your code, while peons had to use the card reader. And then there were the poor schmucks who had to use paper tape on the PDPs, or worse, the front panel switches (a few years later) on the first IMSAI PCs ...

I've taken a liking to all your pithy one-liners. Must be an age-related thing, since I'm much closer to your age than I am the average age on this forum.
