Re: Tell us about yourself!
Here is yet another little biography, prone to be boring. Disclaimer: do not expect this... erh introduction to be original or innovative, nor interesting for that matter. Or perhaps it is merely me who do not fancy such "writings".
So. I happen to live in France (I swear I am not guilty! There was a bug when I picked my nation, and thus I was born French) and I am nearly seventeen year old. Yes, I do feel a bit young, especially when I read the two previous descriptions. *Winks* I am currently in my Last year at high school, (sorry, I do not know what grade it is) studying basic economics, history among other subjects.
Unlike many (if not most) people here, I cannot say I am really into computers (or sciences for that matter). I had my first computer only a few years ago, a Pentium 133 when it was state of the art. I do not fancy programming either, although I am known to spend a *lot* of time tweaking with the mechanisms of games. As long as you don't ask me to write a program, even the easiest of all.
In the Last few years, I spent really too much time in Online role playing games (private servers for Ultima Online, the Fourth Coming back in the days where it was free in France, a few MUDs as well and one or two play-by-post games, to name but a few) and in a few other games as well. (Total Annihilation or Freespace) I almost forgot to mention text-based games, or Interactive Fiction, your choice. (Who said Infocom? It is quite strange to play a game older than yourself. )
Other interests include reading and perhaps PnP RPGs, if I could find players. Easier said than done though. (Planescape... I shall stop digressing) And now, as you can see, I am currently playing SEIV and Dominions 2 (surprising eh?) and a few other from time to time.
Too long a post I fear, so I will stop here.

Yes, I heartily agree with you. Shame I could not play these ones back in those days, but I was... how to put it... a bit young, or not even born for that matter. Ah, the mazes of bureaucracy, or "How are you supposed to officially change your address"... But I digress.

Re: Tell us about yourself!
IF!!!
I've written a few of those, and played a heck a lot of others. I'm glad to see the IF community has continued to thrive over the Last few years!
I assume you've been to the Interactive Fiction Archive. If not, check it out!

Re: Tell us about yourself!
Kia Ora,
I'm 37, live in New Zealand in a little town called Paekakariki by the sea near the bottom of the north island. I have two sons, Samuel (4) and Leith (3). My partner Janine works in Wellington nearby and I do the house dad thing.
I have been gaming since early, started going to the OMTS - Otago Miniature Tacticians Society -about 11 (I think my brother and I were the only ones below 20 at first). D&D followed shortly afters via a one page print out bought back by someone from overseas, and I have progressed throught the various roleplay and wargame system to the point where I now run a PnP RPG using my own system - Quick Kill Combat - and am working with others on a contingent based ancients system inspired by DBM. My particular area of Ancient wargaming interest is the Late Bronze Age and my focus is, as always, is on campaigns. As the years go on more and more I find myself in the GM role.
I played many of the early computer games but have always been dissapointed by the AI for strategy games. It has only been the advent of multi-player formats that has seen me make major use of computers for gaming. Significant games for me have been Muddy Waters (early MUD), Stars!, Ultima Online, Dom I and now II and NeverWinter Nights. I'm also enjoying at bit of Savage and will get the full game soon - I like teamwork in FPS.
Other interests including tramping, sailing, playing music, travel, history, left wing politics, chess, being a social animal (I am a very social animal) and, when my creaking body allows me, sport - I love playing sport. Worst part of getting older, so far, is all the extra injuries that I get if I push too hard.
My plans/dreams include building a NWN persistence world based in 462AD in the British Isles (the time of Arthur) with permanent death and finally getting the bands CD finished. unfortunately having kids makes progress in other fields remarkably slow.
My two motto's:
"Don't worry, be happy . . ."
and
"Don't worry about it - change it!"
Cheers
Keir

Re: Tell us about yourself!
The only one I've got up on the archive right now is called Maiden of the Moonlight, a sort of Scottish-y ghost story thing I wrote for the competition several years ago. (If I'm not mistaken, Babel was one of the ones that edged me out there. ) I've got to get around to uploading an updated Version of Maiden though. I already put up an improved post-contest Version, but I've fixed it up a lot more since then.
The others were written for a specific audience and, as such, are filled with in-jokes and references that don't make them very suitable for mass-distribution.
Years spent working with college English has improved my prose quite a bit as well. I shudder at some of the stuff I came up with back then.
edit: silly typo correction
