Default My First MOD :)

Ok, its not much but I have posted my first attempt at modding the game files over in the data mod section. It is a compEnhancement file that makes the ship sizes have different roles instead of just 'bigger ship, bigger guns' like exists now. Also included is a 'hardened componant' mount for seekers and NON-weapon tech. This increases the damage a comp can take b4 it is destroyed. Yes this affects armour too, doubling cost/size and resist. The hard componant has not been totally AI tested but should work fine. Also added is a WORKING missile mount. It just reduces the size of the mount, same damage and bigger cost. Makes Missile AI's MUCH more deadly.
Any feedback would be appreciated.

I have posted a revised Version of my mod in the data section. Was NOT working correctly. I removed the hardened seeker componants, corrected spelling that was messing up the whole mod (minimissiles had all componants becoming mini ). Added a normal componant size for AI use. This mod will now work as intended. All ship sizes have different roles now instead of just 'bigger ships, more guns' as is the case now.
Hardened componants can now be used by human players, the AI just does not use them correctly.
Comments would be appreciated.......(hopefully I'm not just talking to myself here. ).

As I understand it (haven't tried yet), can't you just make a new Mod directory and have everything run through there? As it is currently, even my saved games are saved only in my 'ModPack v1.30' directory.

yep, the only thing the mod dir does not need is the bitmap files, and a new save dir for each mod dir is a good thing...keeps playing less confusing.

There is someone reading... your mod sounds good. I can't play it for you because I'm in some PBEM games and don't want to alter my config, but it sounds good.

I'm especially interestd in the ship sizes - I have played with Dave's Mod before now and that does something similar. I enjoyed having different hull sizes tailored to different purposes, rather than just bigger and bigger warships with 6 engine slots each.

When I get killed off in PBEM I'll download your mod and see how it plays=-)
