TDM vs AIC?
I've been playing with the TDM mod as I prefer sp games and have recently noticed the other AI mod AIC, I was wondering which is the more challenging?
So Many mods, so little time!

Re: TDM vs AIC?
AIC is better IMHO. But it is different from stock SE and put more emphasis on population growth and planetary development. AIC' AI "cheats" - it has special techs made up for AI deficiencies. For example, AI has build-in mine sweepers and from some point in the game can not be stoped by minefields.

Re: TDM vs AIC?
The TDM designers, offers all of us - the greatest AI Players to compete against - when playing our dearly loved SPACE EMPIRES IV game. Unmodified and right out of the box.
AIC is based on a different game scale and has been modified for a much slower Proportional growth. For better or worse that is how it is.
AIC is designed and recommended primarily for Simultaneous - Solitaire or direct LAN play (only). And AIC is unworthy for a non-direct or PBW games.
The AIC AI is the product of the lessons and ideas taught to all of us by the {TDM founders and the individual AI designers as mentioned in TDM}, Tamper Bay Gamer, Mephisto, Daynarr and that of PvK, Oleg, Rollo, PTF, Fyron, GLV, SJ, Geo, the Master, and many others here on this Forum - not to forget the mention of our local Mod adviser Mr. Kolis
= = = = = = =
Also to say, with se4 v1.91 and as before; Space Empires and TDM - Is the best combination for its truest and finest form.

Re: TDM vs AIC?
(turn based movement game?)
True. I should edit this: early non-Tactical Combat. It gets kind of frustrating with everybody trying to land a hit, early in the game - with any low level AIC direct fire weapons
===
With the true regard to multiplayer - no, AIC is not equipped, it has the foundations; however, I have yet to complete this. Look beyond anything else if you would for a moment - In PBW or PBM, play continues just fine - until somebody DROPS OUT. IF the replacement AI is unable to Complete the designs and also to contain a (pre) Tactical arrangement of scripts - designed for a sudden combative situation (or not), and have an AI that has the acceptable Political persona of the Player that dropped out; then, this PBW or PBM hosted game is usually placed on hold. If no one volunteers to carry the Banner of Standard of that dropped out player; this game may continue, and if so - then only at that AI replacement players devises
TDM - fully representing stock se4. Can achieve a FANTASTIC AI replacement with PBW or PBM.

Re: TDM vs AIC?
Your modest JLS.
AIC has not been out as long as TDM but I also have had sleepless nights and some of us players have loged few sick days from work when playing AI Campaign. It is extremely addictive. What Oleg says true. AIC is a game that demands you to use the stuff Aaron packed in se4 to build your infrastructure and economy up in order to win. The AI designs are perfect and the se4 AI Diplomacy in AIC is second to none.
With all the AIC multiplier options, AIC is very WORTHY of multiplier. JLS what are you talking about when you say AIC is unworthy of turn based movement game? IMHO AIC is the same in a turn based movement game as it is in simu play.
