Re: Top 10 Favorite Science Fiction Series
Series is a very open term.
Robotech (for nostalgia, the books more than the anglified series of three unrelated anime, but that works too)
Babylon 5
X-Files first few seasons (though I'd call that Weird-Fic more than Sci-Fi)
Nadesco
El Hazard (more Fantasy than Sci-Fi, really)
David Brin's uplift books
That's probably all I'd call 'favorite', there's plenty more I'd watch/read happily. And of course there are plenty of isolated works I'd rank high than any series, Starship Troopers, How Much for Just the Planet, many others.

Re: Top 10 Favorite Science Fiction Series
I limited my response to tv series,
Top 10 Sci- Series that I liked which should have included books.
The Stainless Steel Rat (Old - original, new stuff was not that good)
Shadows of the Empire (One of the best Star wars books ever.)
Han Solo and the Lost Legacie (SP) This book inspired me tremendiously. I fell in love with such concepts as finding lost civilizations that were destroyed or forgotten through time but still held great secrets that could be used today.
(Some of Star Treks and B5's best episodes delt with this subject. Forbidden Planet set the standard though)
Has any one else noticed that Fiction sound a lot like (Forgive the language) Fake ****? Say really fast. My nephew sad this the other day when I said he should write Fiction after a lie he told me about something he had done. He looks up at me and says, "I can't right fake****." I sware that is what it sounded like. I about died laughing.
This reminds me of another thing he once said.
My newphews are twins, One of them said something smart to his mother, and she responded by saying he could keep his two cents. The other twin then replies by saying "If I had two cents, I would spend it."
That had to be one of the best lines ever.

Re: Top 10 Favorite Science Fiction Series
My top ten sci-fi series?
Star Trek: ToS (well, the first 2 seasons anyway)
The Time Tunnel
6 Million Dollar Man
Star Trek: TNG
Babylon 5
The X-Files
Quantum Leap
Star Blazers (seasons 1 & 2, I haven't seen the others)
Battlestar Galactica
Buck Rogers (except for the Last season)
I'm sure there are others I've watched and enjoyed, but can't think of them now. And since I don't watch the Sci-Fi channel as much as I'd like to, I didn't include any of the shows that appear on there.

Re: Top 10 Favorite Science Fiction Series
I guess I would have mentioned Brin's "Uplift" first trilogy and the Hitchhiker's Guide long trilogy, as well as Simmons's Hyperion duet, if I thought books were included. And Red Dwarf, if I had a good memory

Re: Top 10 Favorite Science Fiction Series
If books are included, then the Foundation series would have to be my number one pick.
