Default Planet killing

How is it that my plantes can be destroyed even though I have planetary shields build on all of them.

I am using the AST mod. Anyone run into this. I can't do anything. I lose about 5 planets per turn now.

I am not familiar with the AST mod. Is there a intel project that destroys planets? If yes then the planetary shields won't protect you against this, because it is not the tectonic bomb weapon ability that is used but the "event" of planet destruction.
The only protection is counter-intel.

What planetary shield do you have ? To stop tectonic bomb you must build Planetary Gravitational Shield. Normal planetary shield just add shield points to the planet during the battle.

No, it wouldn't have. Won't protect you from ships, either..

Another question - does Planetary shielding (of any type) stop disaster events? I just had a Fire Storm munch 99% of the population of a planet in one of my Highliner Mod test games. I was one turn away from building a Planetary Grav shield and I was wondering if it would've softened the blow.
