What is Omnipresent View

What is Omnipresent view? I noticed this in the QUADRANT set up section of the game set up. I was wondering what it does.

well, you get to see everything that goes on in that system after you visited. Not as good as scanning (you can't "see" the components) and if a new race shows there, you still haven't met. BUT you at least know what direction they are coming from

Try it out in a new game, there is more to it than you might imagine. Like everything in this wonderful game

It just like the settings of 'unmapped' and 'fog of war: off' that you can find in just about any strategy game these days. I'm not sure why we wouldn't be able to imagine it, it's pretty common.

edit: Obviously the mapped/unmapped is a separate option in the quadrant settings. The omnipresent view is basically a 'fog of war' setting.
