OT: I\'m proud to be an American...
...where at least I know I'm Free.
http://www.timesOnline.co.uk/article...356926,00.html
Anyone who reads this forum knows that I'm one of the most offensive, nationalist, pricks ever to have cursed this game with my fandom. With that in mind, who has not seen this comming for a long (or even short) way off, and who thinks this is a good idea?

Re: OT: I\'m proud to be an American...
This is so very sad. I consider myself to be a loyal patriotic American. I am not that particularly old. I remember as a child before the fall of Communism in the Soviet Union that this type of tactic was held in particular contempt among people in this country.
The end does NOT justify the means people.

Re: OT: I\'m proud to be an American...
All I can say is... wow.
"Those who give up freedom to gain security will not get, nor do they deserve, either one". Or something like that.
Of course, what did we expect when we allowed the country's "highest" court to appoint the son of a former head of the secret police as leader of the country, based on support from a province led by yet another family member? Not to mention the current leader's past involvement with shady business dealings (not that it's anything new; Clinton had Whitewater, Bush has Enron, etc.)...

Gee, that's original. Your arms ever get tired from beating that drum?

If I recall correctly, that's one of the US Founding Fathersm and the quote goes a bit more like: "Those who would give up an essential freedom to purchase a temporary security, deserve neither, and surrender both."
