Hi res screenshots for comparison
Has anyone posted side by side screen shots which compare between the 800x600 res of the free version with a 1080p res like 1980x1020?
Before buying the upgraded version I'd like to see the improvement if any of picking out units, mines etc from the background of the map tiles. I have a hard time with that in the free version.

Re: Hi res screenshots for comparison
I can't post side by side, but I can post some images using my 4k Monitor. They may be large on the screen though. On my monitor it all looks fine and wonderful.
If you'd like me to post some pics of just that I can do that if you'd like.

Perhaps you could do that if you don't mind. Thanks.

Re: Hi res screenshots for comparison
Thanks for the help guys. The hi res shots do look more clear and allow up to z8 does seem to help. Where I have trouble is in desert scenarios, for example, where there is a lot of rough terrain in the tiles. The units, especially infantry are hard to pick out.

Re: Hi res screenshots for comparison
The difference in resolution lets you zoom out a couple levels more & retain clarity so you end up with a better overview as can see a larger area.
If you like counter battery firing just zoom out & look for the smoke puffs no need to zoomed in to see them.
Still wort zooming in for cluttered & if you have multiple units in the same hex you can select them from the menu below the save icon instead of trying to mouse over & select the correct one.
Net effect you can play a lot faster & save your eyes from straining.

Re: Hi res screenshots for comparison
......and the changes we made for this last release now allow the + and - to be used once again while the AI turn is running so if you have your map zoomed out too far to see what's going on or in to far to get a decent overview of events .....now you can adjust while the AI turn is still in progress though it will not be instantaneous as it would be during the players turn as the command has to "wait in line" for it's turn as the game has dozens / hundreds of functions running when the AI turn is in progress.
