Why Planet refuses to build?
Does anyone know the reasons a planet will not build. I'm playing with a guy who swears the game is 'screwing him'. The reasons I know are lack of resources, lack of population, planet riots, lack of cargo space. Are there any others? The planet in question is his home planet that was bombed and had all mineral facilities destroyed and he is trying to build a weapons platform. But he has resources from other planets. Apparently the item gets added to the build queue but next turn it is not there.

Re: Why Planet refuses to build?
I can't imagine why the WP would not be build except for a lack of resources or a lack of cargo. I never heard of such a bug nor did I encounter it. Can you provide a savegame so we can have a look into it?

Additionally:
Perhaps the platform is going into an orbital base (hence no lack-of-space message), or being picked up by a repeat-orders transport before he can see it?

I can't see any reason either. The guy I'm playing won't give his pw so I can look at it. Personally I think he is just missing something. (And using the old 'the computer is screwing' me excuse for losing.)

Re: Why Planet refuses to build?
Is his homeworld blockaded? That drastically reduces the available resources.
Another possibility is that his ship maintenance is using all the resources before the WP can be be built, but in that case, he should be getting a log entry about it.

Re: Why Planet refuses to build?
If it's not rioting, and there are enough resourses available, I can think of only two things:
1- the weapon platform is expensive enough that is takes a while to finish at the planet's current wounded state
2- he doesn't have any population left
Yes, you CAN have #2 without loosing the colony completely. Ussually it takes an event or intel project to do it.
