Default Wish to remove cursed item?

If I wish for an item it is instantly equipped, right?
If no slot is free, an already equipped item goes to the lab, even if it is cursed, right?
So I could theoretically use this to unequip a cursed item.
For two used misc slots, which of the items is chosen to go to the lab? Is it random? Is it always the same slot? Is it the uncursed one of the two?

Yes to all of this.

As for which slot gets chosen, I'm unfortunately uncertain. I seem to remember the wished item ending up in the leftmost possible slot each time I tried it, and it also makes the most sense to me as to the 'logic' of the game's engine - as far as I know it at least*, but I can't swear to it. Also, as far as I can remember I never used it to displace a cursed item, so I'm afraid you'll have to do some testing. (Or wait for another kind soul to answer your question.)

*Also, also, trying to decipher the logic of the game's engine is a tricky business at best.
