Early Game Defiler of Dreams
In an SP game I'm playing, I got on turn 7 the event that means you have the Defiler of Dreams hiding in a specific province. This guy is pretty freakin' nasty ( http://dom3.servegame.com/wiki/Defiler_of_Dreams), a stealth of +40 and has an unrest stat of 200. Given the insane unrest and stealth bonus, is it even possible to destealth the creature (playing as EA T'ien Ch'i so no special flying or patrol bonus troops)? And once I do find it, how can I kill it?
My current thought is to recruit a LOT of my cheapest troops (pikeman) and have them patrolling while 2-3 mages behind them set to cast Lightning bolt over and over. None of my units are horror marked so I'm assuming it'll just fly up and start attacking my fodder instead of my casters. It doesn't have shock resistance and it only has 20hp but it does have two nasty drain life attacks so I'm worried it will recuperate the damage I deal to it.
Any insight from the forum veterans?

What's the event message, by the way? I don't think I've ever seen it, but if it's non-obvious I may have just never caught him.
Lightning should work. The hounds should stand up to it for a bit.
You might want to berserk some troops or bring some thing else unbreakable to keep the fear from routing you. It can't drain from undead, so they'd be good if you can arrange it.

Event text: "Horrible dreams of vivisections and children flayed by their mothers are afflicting the population. Fear of a horror infestation is causing widespread panic."
I believe the event requires Magic 2 or greater to occur. Also, it's rare.

About that, does Blood Vengeance work at range? I thought it was a melee thing only, or at best a few squares. I thought I'd be safe having mages blast him from 10 squares back with lightning or something...

Someone with a wiki account should change "illusive" to elusive on that article.

I think this is an ingame typo. It should be reported as a bug.

BV works at range, but your mages have good MR. Cold Bolt might be better than Lightning Bolt, since you don't need AN. And you've probably got more W2s than A2s.

Re: Early Game Defiler of Dreams
Only had it come up in a game once. Only an issue because it hit a province under development. 3 indie (wolf?) shaman patroller backed up by tribe warriors was enough to take it out. From memory I think I increased the PD of the province to around 20. Took 3 or 4 turns to find it. The battle was over very quickly.
