Ageless Olm coldblood?
Hi there!
I ran a few test games (CBM 1.6) with Agartha and the ageless olm pretender and found that he gains fatigue rather quickly when fighting against units with chill aura. So i was wondering if he is coldblooded like the pale ones althought its not mentioned in the unit description? Does anybody know?

I don't think it's possible for a unit to have an attribute (like coldblooded)without the icon showing up on the unit screen. There's a couple of attributes that lack icons, coldblooded isn't one of them.

i was wondering because inside a chill aura, for example of a niefel jarl, he turns blue for a turn and than gains a lot of fatigue. I thought this is strange considering that he has innate 50% frost resistence.

50% CR isn't enough to prevent fatigue from cold effects. It should lessen it, but neifel chill auras are very strong.
If he was cold blooded, he'd pick up extra fatigue just from fighting in cold provinces.

ah i understand ...so 50% CR is only enough to elimniate the damage done by chill but not to prevent fatigue.

Chill auras don't cause damage directly. They cause fatigue, and excessive fatigue can then cause damage.

Re: Ageless Olm coldblood?
aha ... i thought chill is something like cold damage as i have missed the fatigue effect? Anyway then it seems like that chill is somehow more potent than heat aura. heat aura seems to do damage only which the ageless olm can handle more easily with the 50% FR.

Re: Ageless Olm coldblood?
Heat aura is also fatigue only, but it sometimes sets units on fire, damaging them.

Re: Ageless Olm coldblood?
I always thought the turning blue was the unit freezing and that it had a random chance like being set on fire with a heat aura. Though I believe freezing only causes fatigue as opposed to the damage caused by fire.
So that would partly explain why he gained more fatigue from a cold aura unit. Also bear in mind that a neifel Jarl might have a cold aura stronger than the heat aura of several abysians. Were the heat/cold auras of the units your olm fought equal? Were there more cold units than heat units?

It should also be noted that being set on fire also causes fatigue.
