Default How does the number of attacks your units have affect the battle outcome?

I got a question about units with multiple attacks such as some assassins which have 2 poison dagger attacks, do they actually inflict this 2 poison dagger attacks upon contact with the first enemy they see after moving on the battle field, or they just choose which of the poison dagger attack to use that turn.

So if i add attacks to them by equipping misc items like the chi shoes to give it another chi kick attack, does it actually means i get to hit the enemy 3 hits each turn in the battlefield?

1)So now for example i have 3 melee attacks and 2 range attacks, means that my unit would be able to attack 3 melee attacks or do 2 range attacks a turn on the battle field?

2)If the melee attacks does area damage does it mean it is a range attack?

3)If i got 3 melee attacks, 1st melee attack does 1 hit, 2nd melee attack does 6 hits, last melee attack does 1 hit but have area damage, so in one turn on the battle field my unit actually is not limited to just doing 2 melee attacks, but actually are 3 melee attacks which hits 8 times where 1 out of the 8 hits is area damaging, am i right?

1) Yes.

2) A melee attack with area damage automatically hits everything in its aoe, at melee.

3) Yes.
