To the best of my memory this is already being done, albeit I am not sure whether it is for the T-90 or T-72 modernization or some other program altogether. The problem is that Russia does not have a sufficient production capacity of thermal cameras to satisfy the demand: they are necessary for all of kinds of systems, from ATGM firing posts to tanks and helicopters. Therefore an additional supply source is necessary.

Same here, quoting from memory, but the thermals on the T-90 is Thales Catherine since around 1994, in fact the first thermals installed on a T-90.
Of course, only the thermal element in imported, and integrated in a Russian-designed sight.

I remember seeing Thales tags on other sensors as well, including the new Dozor UAVs.
