Oh the Horrors
Horrors don't work well against:
Glamored troops (the glamor cuts down on the amount of hp recovered).
Undead troops {with certain exceptions; low morale undead for example}
Indies with nature mages (tangle vines/vine arrows)
Net troops.
Troops with magic/AoE attacks - winterwolves etc. Agarthan Seal Guards. Caelum ice lances etc.
Van PD once orb lightning researched.
They work OK
Berserk troops.
Underwater
OTherwise, they work pretty well
Tactics Against Horrors:
1. Retake emptied provinces with stealthy scouts, or other commanders.
2. Against spammed horrors: (2 or more): Horror Mark. Astral Geysir. Swarm.
Horror mark targets Large/High hp first. Geysir, being AoE doesn't.
What else should go here?

Re: Oh the Horrors
The fear effect of horrors still works against undeads with "lower" morale. Like Vampires.

Re: Oh the Horrors
If you know your enemy likes to call horrors as backup for his army just assemble a large horror-vulnerable army and script them to hold hold retreat?
That said I wouldn't like to use horrors together with a large army.

Re: Oh the Horrors
Horrors in not adequate numbers have problems against some archer-heavy PD.
Sauromatian PD is good against them - cavalry with lances.
Horrors are not Poison immune either. Did I mention Sauromatia?

Re: Oh the Horrors
In my opinion the best counter vs Horrors is Astral Geysir. Of course you need access to Astral mages for it, but if you have them, then your opponent will attempt exactly one time to use Horrors against you. It is not nice to be eaten by Horrors you yourself called Plus AI seems to like to target horrors with the Geysir, so the horrors end up fighting themselves (always a nice view to watch :P).

Ok, perhaps you are a grammar nazi and thus correct: The spell is actually called Astral Geyser
If you meant you've never heard of Astral Geyser (no matter if it is spelled right or wrong ), then check the Level 5 Evocation spells It is not obvious from the description, but it adds a +2 Horror mark on the target.

Re: Oh the Horrors
Oh, they meant astral geyser.
And yes, I am.
You could also spam paralyze/soul slay (with high penetration items and high astral levels). It was what you were to paralyze the Abomination of Desolation when I summoned him, that one battle.
