Probably not possible but to improve & stop abuse could the following be implemented.

Allowed only at visible hexes but give TI function when do so can see through smoke & still do. Think I just answered own question if worked as TI & revealed units its a cheat.

Other option can fire at hexes adjacent to those in LOS.

Or just thought of as realy used by auto weapons increase at least for infantry ammo use when used this way.
