Default Is there any way to make the computer take there turns faster?

I have noticed after a game progresses a few hours into the game the computer players take longer and longer to take there turns.
Sometimes im sitting there for a minute or so waiting for my next turn and I dont want to do this.
Is there any way to speed this up?
I want to be able to just click end turn and it will almos be instantly my next turn.
This will save a lot of time.

Add more ram and a better processor. Shut down programs running in the background. Use a ram booster/optimizer

There are a number of options:
A> Get a faster computer.

2> Use someone else's computer (ie PBW) =-)

2.5> Play smaller galaxies with less empires.

3> Make sure your race has temporal technology. Research it for 3 tech levels and build a processing time reduction facility in every system. You have to make sure you don't get too close to your monitor though, because the temporal fold waves can make your hair go grey.

iv> Deal with it. I think most of us watch TV, run another game or check the forums in between turns. Better yet, fix yourself a snack, then start an off topic thread about how you seem to be putting weight on since buying the game.

I am afraid there is not much you can do to speed things up. As your empire grows, so do the computer empires, so the AI has to make more and more decisions. This takes the computer longer to compute.

You could upgrade your machine or browse the web, like some other people do between turns.

Wipe out the AI players early on, so they don't grow big enough to slow down your computer! :P

You can set the game up in the option window to make rapid fleet movements. That helped my game speed up a tad. (DO NOT SHOW SHIP MOVEMENTS)
