Bug Problem: new graphic card
I just got a new graphic card, a Radeon HD 4850 with the new Catalyst 8.7 drivers and I am now unable to play Dominions 3. How can I solve this problem?

I had the same problem, using a emachine.
New drivers simply did not work.
I went to the machine manufacturer, and downloaded the original driver - and that worked. (minor bugs).
Try that; failing that; roll back to older drivers for this graphics card.

I have a brand new HD4870 and no problems at all, using the drivers on the CD that came with the card. Mine is from Club3D, if that's any help.
What kind of problems are you having?

I had an old Radeon 9600 until recently, which worked fine with all versions of Dominions up to and including 3.15, but then the 3.17 patch came out and I started having problems with it. Had to get a new video card in the end as the old one blew while I was messing around with it's drivers and settings.
'Greed' - Does any version of Domoinions work with your graphics card? Try running it un-patched from just the CD install (which I guess will be version 3.00) or some of the earlier versions (not sure if they're still available for download though) to see if that works or not.

You could try to start the game with the command line option "--noglext" to disable OpenGL extensions in the meantime.

interesting.. I might try that ich
because dom still hangs for me, when unloading... leaves a 75 meg dom process active.
If I kill it manually, all is .. well not fine.. but ok.
