bug and question
Noticed a bug in the top 15 list of commanders. A copy of my pretender showed up in the list with a different name.
It was near the bottom of the list and soon disappeared in a couple turns.
Can a province itself cause disease? Commanders I moved into one province seemed to get infected just for being there. Can the priestess heal anything?

Re: bug and question
1.) Beats me. Could it have been a pretender from another nation?
2.) No, but there are magic sites that do cause disease, and until you search the province you won't be able to see them. I think they are all Death sites. The priestess can heal any affliction on a non-undead unit, but some afflictions take longer to heal (whether it's from a priestess healing or from self-healing units like Wraith Lords and centaurs).

Re: bug and question
Was the hall of fame oddness at the beginning of a game? I know there was an old bug where a bunch of random junk populated the HoF before actual units got some kills/xp under their belt. Not a terribly large deal.
2 I don't believe old age afflictions can be healed, actually.

Yes it was very near beginning, and your right it's definetly not a large deal.

What about like a missing limb or eye?

Good point, I think you're right that priestesses can't heal old age afflictions. Gift of Health can.
Missing limbs and eyes can be healed by priestesses, unless they come from old age. (The old age afflictions show up every year during late winter. I don't *think* afflictions caused by disease from old age count as old age afflictions.)

Nope it was using my flag in the list. And it said that it was with my army. The magical abilities where not the same, but the type of pretender was.

Ahh that must have been it, as soon as I moved these two comanders into the province ,they became infected.

Inkpot End. It's a magic site that can be discovered by normal site searching.

I reported an equal bug more than a year ago. Did you start several games and didn't end dominions between it? However i think it has something to do with a not correctly reseted list.

Re: bug and question
That bug is a known issue and is related to a very complex bug involved in pretender creation, which requires a very specific set of conditions to manifest. The copy of the god appearing is a side effect of that, which also requires fairly specific conditions to manifest. It has been reported by PM a long time ago, but apparently all aspects of it have not been fixed. It was never shortlisted due to certain considerations regarding MP games where it could be abusable. It's too complex to easily do so without detailed instructions, which I'm obviously not going to provide to anyone.
Another related issue is the non-existent nations in the HoF, which is in the shortlist, but it is an indirect relation.
As far as diseases and healing afflictions go, see the FAQ.

Re: bug and question
Skirmisher, why don't you crop off the sides of your picture of Tom Baker so that his head is reasonably in proportion? As it is I find it slightly unpleasant to look at.
There are, of course, worse problems in life.
