Slight chance of horor mark(O really)
Manual claims that there is a "slight" chance of a horror mark from certain items. And I was told by someone that "slight" means 5 percent.
However, in actual game play, the Robe of the Magi inevitably horror marks my mages after 1 turn, as does forbidden light.
I would respectfully submit that there is in fact more than a 5 percent chance of a horror mark when these items are equipped. In any event, the word "substantial" or "inevitable" should be substituted for "slight" in the manual if no change is implemented to the percentage chance of getting horror marked from these items.

Re: Slight chance of horor mark(O really)
I've had some units get away without horror marks. I can't remember well enough to confirm this, but they might have been Blood mages. Maybe that could make a difference? Or I could just be reading too much into a coincidence, of course.

The manual is full of lies.

All the items say "slight chance" of horror mark... yet some are definitely more likely than others.

Re: Slight chance of horor mark(O really)
Did you read the description of the Forbidden Light? That there is some major Bad Juju and it has an absolutely massive chance of putting a fairly powerful horror mark on the bearer.
Robe of the Magi is likewise a very powerful item, so it does bear a stronger horrormark than e.g. Lightless Lantern or some of the other items. No idea what the exact chances and horrormark strengths are, as I do not have precise information on that.

I have used lanterns many many times.. and never once gotten horror marked. Talking 20-30 mages equipped easily.. for 20-30 turns..
Perhaps it depends on nations and scales?

Re: Slight chance of horor mark(O really)
I am not advocating change so much as pointing out errors in the manual. At one point I think there was an effort being made to make it substantially correct.
I do think the chance of a horror mark should be removed from the Tome of High power, as the item is not that powerful, and for what you get at constr 8, it does not seem appropriate to burden it with the horror mark affliction.
But the Tome of High Power does seem to have a lower chance of horror marking a mage then the Forbidden Light and the Robe of the Magi.

Re: Slight chance of horor mark(O really)
Manual is much harder to fix than problems like typos in the game, because they'd need to do whole new print runs of it. I can ask about that, though.
