Default description not read

What can cause monster descriptions in mod to be missed by game?? Monster itself works, but game either says "no description" or takes old description of modded monster or even uses description of unit from which sprite was copied!!

You probably put name before copystats, or descr before name. Both of those would overwrite it.

No, I'm not that much a-hole. 1 case is just selectmonster - descr - end.
to Aezeal:
in my Bogarus splitting mod. I've added 2 new - hero & Pretender - in 1.03 version, & changed banner-bearer's description so he'd be of regular troops, not foederati...

And now it works, for no apparent reason!
One possibility is that copystats doesn't catch description of new monster. Can somebody say is it possible?
