Which is better, Knight or Serpent Cataphract
Pythium does get a cavalry unit of sorts, though it is mounted on a lizard instead of a horse.
Comparing the Serpent Cat. to the Knight, they appear similar, though the knight has more offensive firepower with a lance and broad sword, hoof on the initial attack.
Does anyone know what debilitating poison is?
In any event, if your army could have 10 knights or 10 Serpent Cat., in a face off with Vans(MA), which would be superior?
I think the choice depends on what the poison of the Serpent cat. actually does.

The serpent cataphracts are awesome, because if they die, the lizard fights on!

They would be even better if the serpents were poison immune, or at least
resistant. By the way, has anyone figured out what makes serpents sometime
remain as troops after the battle? Luck or bug?

Re: Which is better, Knight or Serpent Cataphract
I think it is a bug that the serpents disappear after combat.
Machaka's spiders do not disappear after combat. The poison does 20 points of stun damage(fatigue)(thanks Dr. P). Makes it situational. I would rather see them do just strong poison, and I would like to see the serpents stay after the fight like the spiders do.
Spider riders also are not immune to poison, but the spiders are. Serpents should be 100 percent immune to poison after the rider is dead.

I see it more as the spiders staying on after combat being a bug. They should vanish like the serpents imo. Of course that would require recosting the original units.

Re: Which is better, Knight or Serpent Cataphract
On a different note about Serpent Cataphracts, this is only a graphical bug, but it kind of irritates me. With LA Pythium, after a cataphract rider is killed, the serpent lives on, but it wears the plain iron barding from the MA cataphracts as opposed to the gilded barding the sacred LA ones recieve.
Also, since the LA riderless serpent is just the same as the MA one, it's not sacred anymore and was wondering if it should be. I recall there was the same problem with the headless Sacred Hydras, but here it's more of a debate as to whether the rider or the serpent itself are the ones considered sacred.
